went to see a brilliant film last night: distant voices, still lives at nft. much better than spiderman 3, but how much was due to musical format i cannot say. even pete "almost an actor" poslethwaite was bareble (hat tip: pgw). actually maybe he is ok in something else, but quite what passes me by for now. lots of politics this week, but nothing remotely interesting from my preliminary glances. still it is grist to the mill.
