just back from france - ready for bed. dinner at la tupina in bordeaux was excellent - very good steak, other meaty treats and ancient armagnac to round it off. other than food, the highlight was probably wine (claret, white bordeaux, burg), and other than that, ping pong and bach.

good times last night with e: mild at the pembury tavern (now, sadly trading ex pork scratchings) followed by short ribs, flat onions and brussel sprouts with some lovely gevrey chambertin. this week will (i hope) see a triumphant first visit to st john in 2011 - i am thrilled to the marrow at the prospect.
