hopefully you all understood the caveat implied by my previous post: don't rely on this note for any purpose whatsoever. another long day on the row passed i am for my bed. only question is what gets in my way.

a few thoughts on the impending tour in the light of the present market prices:
  • with only basso and ulrich in single digits odds for the yellow jersey, there is probably some good value for the win this time around if you fancy a ukranian or salvoldelli (and i couldn't blame you for either)
  • given the polka dot, green, and team competitions as well as the yellow jersey race there must be some stats arbitrage possibilities if anyone can be bothered to think about he correlations implied by the present odds (buy basso at 20+ for the dots and lay at 2s for yellow seems an obvious strategy given the possibility for settlemt between the pyrenees and the alps)
  • all the odds look like a case study in the effects of low liquidity
any thoughs in the comments greatly appreciated (sorry for recent silence - i have been working on a possible additional blogging oppertunity)

last night i went to see a movie which was quite good, but which was rather abused in two respects. about an hour in the screen went black and the lights came on and some poor chap came in to say that the temerature was too high by his hse guidelines blah blah.....air conditioning buggered......booing....cheering......black out...film on.....all better. the second is important, so follow closely. dont bloody talk during a film. it is unforgivable, almost without exception. i am sure you are all aware that i am capable of bearing a grudge.

and it feels like i have struggled long and hard at my heavy yoke, but i have barely pulled it a quater of the way up the hill. no stairs to climb and no delicious coffee to sup on. no hot smell of the sand by the thames. but sweat and fury and crushing boredom abound. i am busy playing the electric violin out on desolation row.

the cinema offers few diversions on this grey and dull day, not that diversion is what is required given my progress against the black and white of my study plans. and yet, and yet diversion is all that i fell capable of. perhaps i will content myself with a trip to bdd this weekend given that a barely smoldering ember of a once mighty empire will be providing some of the amusements on offer. been listening to palace brothers more than my long term mean trend and it is all good stuff. when you have no one, no one can hurt you.

ho ha hum drum. i am reading a book about a poor chap in a rather rum spot. like so much literature it makes me thirsty. luckily there is a potential volatility spike in my celebratory inclination on the horizon so i should remain thirsty for an acceptably short period. i have some sympathy for a cigarette butt in the process of being extinuighed by a fire phobic in hob nailed books. shake it up baby now, c'mon work it on out.

the game is a funny one. facts become fictions and vice-versa but this takes the biscuit. i listened to the single on 1xtra last night as i strolled out of the office, and for some reason i thought of this guy talking to this guy. all the political fuzz on the peach that is the news at the moment is faintly reminiscent of house of cards. i say lets make bellinis.
