e and i had a nice weekend in the jura - two amazing meals at jean paul jeunet, lots of tasty wines and bruegel like views at every turn.  particular highlights included giant oysters, hare a la royale, some wonderful morbier and an amazing trouseau from puffney in a healthy middle age.  i might have to avoid meat and wine  for a few days to get over all the excess though.  we also watched radio on on DVD which was charming and rather eccentrically photographed.

dinner last night: papardelle with rabbit from the verrow - very tasty.

 

 

 

 

spent the weekend in wales - in some ways a flash back to times past.  the many pleasures of the weekend included some whisky, a large vacherin mont d'or, the preparation of pumpkin stuffed pasta and climbing a mountain in a gale peppered occasionally with sleet.  the opportunity of a week off work finds me quite braced - stewing apples picked this morning and looking forward to sleep, some running and a trip to the seaside.
